Frequently Asked Questions
If you're new to coaching, here are some answers to common questions that might help.
-
In your first session, you can expect the coach to learn more about you, your goals, and what you hope to achieve through coaching. It's a collaborative process where you and the coach establish rapport and begin outlining a plan.
-
While coaching and therapy share some principles, coaching is distinctively future-oriented and goal-focused. It is not a substitute for treatment, which often deals with past issues and emotional healing. Coaches help you create actionable plans for positive change.
-
During a coaching session, we collaborate to review and refine goals, discuss progress and challenges, and develop actionable strategies. The session includes skill development, reflection on experiences, and setting priorities. Coaches provide feedback, support, and accountability, and sessions typically end with a summary of critical points and homework assignments. The focus is empowering the client to achieve personal and professional development goals.

Sessions are 45 minutes long. I offer weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly calls based on the objectives we agree on.
-
It's common to have only partially formed goals initially. A skilled coach will guide you through self-discovery to help clarify your objectives. Coaching can be beneficial even if your goals evolve or change over time.
-
The timeline for results varies, but many clients see positive changes within a few weeks or months. Consistency, commitment, and active participation in the coaching process contribute to faster progress.
